Description: The Space Telescope Science Institute (United States) has created this set of all-sky photograph surveys from the ground based telescopes Palomar and UK Schmidt in several colors. Images from any portion of the sky can be acquired either in FITS or GIF format. They can be retrieved by their position or target name. All images on the site are provided free of charge, also links to related external sites are provided. This is a fun and interesting resource for those interested in the more visual aspects of astronomic research.
