Description: This is a case study presented by the University of Pittsburgh Department of Pathology in which a 54 year-old woman presented with a “left breast nodule.” Visitors are given the patient’s history, mammogram image, and the results from a fine needle aspiration (including images), and are given the opportunity to diagnose the patient. Students can check their conclusions by clicking on the “Final Diagnosis” section, which provides a thorough explanation of the diagnosis and treatment. This is an excellent resource for students in the health sciences to familiarize themselves with using patient history and laboratory results to diagnose disease.
